Why Choose Cookstown Greens
Organic farming is rooted in sustainability. As stewards of the land, Cookstown Greens consistently practices ethical and responsible standards in everything we do.
It Starts with Soil
Our premium clay loam soil is great for nutrient exchange for our plant roots and enhances the flavour of our vegetables. We have great soil texture and structure along with high organic matter and microbial activity, enabling us to grow nutrient-rich vegetables.
Natural Water Supply
Our water comes from the Egbert Creek, which runs into the Nottawasaga River. We work closely with the Nottawasaga conservation authority to manage the flow of water that we use so that we do not adversely affect the ecology of the watershed.
Natural Crop Care
We put in the extra time, labour and materials in order to keep the bugs away using organic methods. As organic farmers we know it's worth it to contribute to a healthy ecosystem and healthier food options.
Growing Year-Round
We grow seasonal produce year-round in our greenhouses and in our fields. Our propane-heated greenhouses allow us to keep growing select produce throughout the winter and early spring.
On A Family-Run Farm
We are a family-run farm growing over 120 varieties of the best organic produce. Our passion is to grow great food and give our customers a great food experience. Meet the people that grow the food you eat!
